Biography: H. C. “Bo” Carvill, died May 20, 2008. He was born in Helena, AR, on May 8, 1928. He attended Columbia Military Academy, and he graduated from Helena High School, the University of Mississippi, and the Southwest Graduate School of Banking. He served twice in the U.S. Army, including service in Korea. For 29 years, Bo was the Executive Director of the Arkansas Bankers Association. He served on the boards of a number of organizations, including Mallard Pond Hunting Club, the Arkansas Student Loan Guarantee Foundation, and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn McGrew and Herman Carvill of Helena and brother Sydney. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Robertson Carvill; two daughters, Ann Carvill of Little Rock and Caroline Carvill of Terre Haute, IN; a grandson, James Carvill and his wife Machel; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Carvill, Andrew Carvill, and Emily Bowman. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at Second Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Steve Hancock officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will take place Monday at 1:30 in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne, AR, with the Rev. Thompson Murray officiating. Mrs. Carvill ~ You spoke with my mother earlier this week at the hospital. My father was in the room next to your husband. We were saddened to read about his passing. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Bo was very helpful to me during my banking in Grant County Bank in Sheridan. I was so sad to see that he was not with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time but know that you will have many happy thoughts of him in the future, as I will.
