Biography: Kay Duff Smith, age 68, of Little Rock and Mayflower, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008. She was born in Plumerville, Arkansas where she graduated from high school. She also graduated from Arkansas Tech in Russellville where she received her BA degree before receiving her Masters in Education from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She later retired as a teacher with the Little Rock School District. Kay was a lifelong Christian and a contributor and volunteer with CARE animal adoption services. She loved being with her grandchildren, family, friends, and her dogs. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at both the Conway Regional Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Center with a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Kaston. Kay is survived by 2 sons; Mike McGibbony and wife Donna of Little Rock, Scott McGibbony and wife Melissa of Little Rock, one daughter, Cathy Andrews and husband Joe of Texarkana, Arkansas, Guy Maris, III of Mayflower, and nine grandchildren; Catherine, Caroline, Michael, Will, Maddie, and Elizabeth McGibbony, and Emily, Ellen and Laura Andrews. She is also survived by her three dogs; Beaux, Baxter and Asia. There will be a visitation Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock, followed by a graveside service Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Plummerville Cemetery in Plumerville, Arkansas.
