Alan was a founding member and past president of the Crescent City Coin Club, and was a collector of commemorative coins and large 1 cent coins (pre-1860) and US 1 cent “Indian Head” pennies (1860-1909). He also delighted in the Murry Lock and Dam over the Arkansas River, taking every visitor to Little Rock to a tour of he dam. In fact, during the recent celebration of his 90th birthday his children told his grandchildren of a “dam tour” on the itinerary (as a joke), and several of them signed up for the excursion. Most importantly, Alan was a loyal and loving family man, speaking to one and all of his love of family and his children and grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
