Biography: Frances Babb Stoddard of Little Rock died Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008. She was born in El Dorado, AR, on July 21, 1912, daughter of Fred and Maggie Palmer Babb. Frances was predeceased by her daughters, Mary Frances Blanton Stephens and Martha Ruth Blanton; and 3 husbands, Cecil Blanton, Chris Wright and Bruce Stoddard. She is survived by grandchildren Debbie Underwood, Steve Stephens, Kathy Burnett, Mary Meith, Kathy Walbert, Kim Brass, Andrea Stockburger, and Laura Lewis, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Other survivors include her stepdaughter, Dean McMillin and her husband, Tom, with whom she lived for eleven years in Little Rock, and cousins Pat Baker and Ann Michaelesco. Frances graduated from El Dorado High School and Draughn School of Business in Little Rock. She was a court reporter for the Federal District Court, Eastern Arkansas Division, until her retirement in 1976. Frances was a devoted member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She served in many capacities in the women’s programs, Sunday school, and older adult programs, including president of the Rudd Sunday school class. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The National Society of Colonial Dames, The National Society of Magna Charta Dames, the Arkansas Pioneers, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Foundation, 4823 Woodlawn Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72205. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27 at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. There will be a reception in the church parlor after the service.
