Biography: Genevieve Ilfrey Lincoln, age 86, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2008, surrounded by her son, Hospice Home Care nurses and her special caregiver. She was born in Cedar Bayou, Texas, on February 8, 1922, to the late Ivy Clarence and Ora Glen (Casey) Ilfrey. Genevieve was a proud descendant of the founders of the Texas Republic. She grew up in the Baytown, Texas, area and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where she was a former Miss Robert E. Lee. She later graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Genevieve loved the company of her friends and family throughout her life. She enjoyed boating in good and foul weather, dancing as long as the music played, and playing bridge with enthusiasm, if inattentively. She was a gracious hostess and had a great capacity for conversation and merriment. Her grandchildren loved her bread, butter and sugar sandwiches. She is remembered with love by her family: Charles Knox Lincoln, II; Lt. Col. James Merritt Culbert Lincoln, his wife Olga and son Misha Moiseyev Lincoln; Ivy Glen Lincoln, his wife Jacqui and family Naomi, Chris, Katie and Chloe Stratton, Sarah and Len Mendel-Johnson, Julia, Matt, Bishop and Cassidy Sites, and Daniel Ilfrey Lincoln. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the staff of UAMS Reynolds Senior Health Center and to all of the medical professionals and caregivers who helped care for Genevieve for the last several years of her life. They would also like to thank the Pleasant Valley Living Center for the care they provided during Genevieve's last few weeks. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Mt. Holly Cemetery, officiated by The Reverend Dan McKee. A reception will follow at the Little Rock Country Club.
