I am shocked and heartbroken to hear of Evan’s sudden passing. I’m so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by myself and 10+ other members of the “eight Ball Rolling” pool group at Center by the Lake. We have had many a fun time, both ridiculing and encouraging our fellow players for our pretty average play. It is a weekly time we all look forward to.

I saw the obituary reference to his kitten. He never spoke of the kitten, but I treated him twice for infection related to cat bites and scratches. I knew despite my precautions on animal related infections, and our age related drop in immune response was falling on deaf ears, the fact he was willing to deal with the symptoms. He must truly love that cat.

The commonality we shared, and spoke the most of when we were together is our love for Fly Fishing. There was always an elevated mood, excitement, smiling and a gleam in his eye when he shared his recent excursion to the Little Red River. I will miss us, sharing those stories.

Rest in Peace Evans, the Fly Fishing is better in heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Evans’ transition home. We were classmates in Fordyce. The Bentons were wonderful people. I fondly remember our 6th grade graduation that was held at their lovely home. I took piano lessons from Mrs. Benton for several years.

I was able to visit with Evans for a good long while at our 50th anniversary class reunion. He spoke very highly of you, and I’m so glad you found happiness together. It was so good catching up with him after all these years. I was really looking forward to seeing him again next April at our 60th. The Class of 1967 will surely miss him.

Patsy, it was such a shock to see Evans’ obituary. We were in school together for 12 years in Fordyce. Evans was so smart and had a good sense of humor. It was good to see him at our 50th reunion in 2017 and I was hoping to see him again next year for the 60th. We had exchanged emails a few months ago about traveling. I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for you and your family.
