Biography:
William Evans Benton was born in Little Rock on February 9, 1949; he grew up in Fordyce.
Evans was predeceased by his parents, William R. Benton, Jr. and Sarah Kathryn Benton, and his sister Barbara Patty. He is survived by wife Patsy Carter with whom he took many lengthy road trips to the eastern and western US, as well as Canada, granddaughter Nova Massey, and nephews Claibourne Patty III (April) and Jordan Patty (Julie) all of Maryland, and his furry friend Kitty.
He graduated from the University of Colorado and University of Arkansas School of Law. Evans practiced law many years in Little Rock before taking up fly fishing and pool shooting in later years. He was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association.
