Biography:

Bobby Joe Smothers (Bob), 83, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026.  He was born in Arkadelphia on October 7, 1942. He is survived by his daughter Meredith A. Pour and son-in-law Mehdi Pour, three grandchildren, C. Blake Watson (Brandy), Lee C. Smothers (Makaleigh), and Brooke M. McKinney (Cole), one great granddaughter, Stella Watson and his daughter-in-law Julie L. Dyer, his brother-in-law John C. Cheatham, Jr., and one nephew, Jimmy Anderson. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years Linda Lou Cheatham Smothers, his son Col. Robert C. Smothers, his sister Joanne Anderson and his parents. The family wishes to thank his caregiver Clarissa Kitchen.

A multi-sport high school athlete, he attended Little Rock Public Schools and graduated from Harding Academy. He was a dedicated live bait farmer working at Anderson Farms in Lonoke in addition to other live bait companies. A man of many talents; he enjoyed reading, fishing, birdwatching, traveling, haute cuisine, and particularly visiting family in Europe and the Middle East.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 3PM in the Mausoleum of Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock AR.
