Biography:

Carol Louise Hutton, 84, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on July 6, 2026.

Carol was born in 1941 to Sibyl Moseley and Eugene Kirkes and grew up in Little Rock. She attended Central High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Sibyl and Eugene Kirkes, and by her children, Richard Hall, Lisa Richards, and Steve Hall.

She is survived by her son, Brian Hall; two granddaughters, Hailey Hall and Shelby Powers; her brother, Bill Kirkes; four beloved great-granddaughters, Caroline Powers, Savannah Powers, Zelda Welch, and Amelia Powers; one great-grandson, Hutton Welch; and a life-long, highly cherished cousin-by-choice, Linda Stanford.

Although many knew her as Carol, to her family she was affectionately known as "Nana," a role she held dear. Carol was known for her kind nature, her deep love for her family, and the warmth she radiated. She was a longtime member of the St. James United Methodist Church where she loved to be involved and to watch her husband John sing in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, yoga, traveling, reading, and playing bridge with her friends. She treasured her book club, gardening club, and bridge club, as well as her bible study group, and her Yaya Sisterhood. You could often find her out on her porch watching the birds or watering her flowers. Carol was an animal lover and had many pets in her lifetime that she loved dearly, including Bucky (“Buck-a-roo”) the Lhasa Apso mix that was her and John’s beloved companion for the past 15 years.

John and Carol shared more than 48 years of love, memories, and devoted partnership. Just as they lived side by side, they departed this life together, never having to face a day without one another. Their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Carol and John’s celebration of life will be held at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, AR on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. James United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
