Biography: Lauren Berkman Margolick (39) passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 1, 2026. Lauren was born to Sam and Michelle Berkman on January 8, 1987 in Los Angeles, California. Lauren graduated from Santa Monica High School and went on to study economics at the University of Washington before earning her MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of British Columbia. Lauren’s adventurous spirit led her to Tel Aviv, Israel in the summer of 2010, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Joseph Frank Margolick. Lauren and Joe married in Hawaii on June 18th, 2016.
Lauren’s entrepreneurial talent led her to co-found a home decor business, become an early employee and VP of Marketing for a rapidly growing Canadian startup, and to take a leadership role at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, with many other stops along her varied career.
Lauren loved to travel with Joe, from Hawaii to Europe to South America and beyond. A natural and industrious leader, Lauren served on the Board of Trustees of Congregation B’nai Israel. She gave her time and energy generously to those in need.
Lauren’s greatest joy and legacy was her family. Lauren and Joe brought two beautiful daughters into the world, Ari Marie and Noa Rebecca. Lauren adored her daughters, who were the center of her world. She was able to fulfill a supportive role for Joe as he completed his medical school and residency from eastern Canada to the southern United States. They built a beautiful life together through the challenges of many moves and the rigors of medical training.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Joe Margolick; her daughters, Ari and Noa; her parents, Samuel and Michelle; her sister, Jacqueline Berkman and niece, Jillian; her mother and father-in-law, Mary Louise and Michael Margolick; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Margolick; and a host of friends across the U.S, Canada and beyond. Lauren had a generous spirit and was adored by all who met her.
A memorial service to honor her memory will be held at Congregation B’nai Israel, 3700 North Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, AR at 11am on Tuesday, July 7th. Arrangements are under the direction of Congregation B’nai Israel and RuebelFuneralHome.com
