Biography:
William Byron “Bill” Sigler, 84, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026. He was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on July 15, 1941, to Robert Byron and Marguerite Cravens Sigler and moved to Little Rock in 1957 from Memphis.
Bill was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Jacksonville High School when the Little Rock Schools were closed in 1958-59. He attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in June 1964 and was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, Artillery, serving in South Korea from May 1964 to June 1965.
Bill spent 40 years as an independent insurance agent until his retirement in 2011. He was an over 50-year member of Second Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon. He was a member of the Downtown Little Rock Rotary Club (Club 99) and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Bill served on the board of Lakeside Country Club and was a member of the Little Rock Country Club. A member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Bill served as secretary of the Sigma Chi House Corporation (U of A) for over 25 years.
Bill was married to Genie Johnson Sigler for 48 years until her death in 2015. Together they had their wonderful daughter, Beth. Bill was blessed to find love again with his wife of over 7 years, Gay White.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, travel, road trips, exploring Arkansas, and the Razorbacks. He loved his family and friends deeply, and participating in these activities with them was a joy in his life.
Bill was preceded in death by Genie and his parents. Bill is survived by daughter Beth and wife Gay; sister Martha Guthrie of Metairie, LA; sister-in-law Beth Bridgforth and husband John of Forrest City, AR, and nephew David Bridgforth of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by stepson Kyle White and his wife Kelly, of Burke, VA, and their children Tyler (Daly), Tristan, and Julia.
Bill’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff for the excellent care he received at Woodland Heights Memory Care and particularly the assistance and love provided by LifeTouch Health (formerly AR Hospice).
A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. RuebelFuneralHome.com
