Biography:
John Vaughn (Jack) Reynard (89), beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in his home in Maumelle, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born on April 20, 1937, in Wilmington, Delaware. Raised in an orphanage, he came from humble beginnings. He often shared stories from those early years, with the same humor and charm that defined him throughout his entire life. At 19, Jack joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for four years. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Carlene Fuller, and together they made their home in Hope, Arkansas, where Jack became a cherished member of the Fuller family.
In 1967, Jack and Carlene were blessed to adopt identical twin daughters, who were the greatest joy of his life. Jack took immense pride in his children and, later, his grandchildren. His love for his family knew no bounds. Affectionately known by his grandchildren as Jack, Jackie, or Jackson, he brought laughter into every room, and a gathering wasn’t complete until he walked through the door.
His spirit for life was impossible to contain and impossible to forget. Whether he was golfing with friends (who knew him as Foxy), playing cards, dancing to Elvis, or sharing stories that could keep a room laughing for hours, he had a gift for putting smiles on every face around him. A devoted member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Jack also found great joy in his faith and church community. An entertainer at heart, there was nowhere he would rather be than in the middle of the people he loved most. The laughter, warmth, and love he brought into the world will continue to live on in all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carlene Fuller Reynard; his daughters, Stacy Gibson and Tracy McNeil; his four grandchildren, Worth Gibson (Addie), Haven Gunnett (Cain), Jake McNeil, and Wes McNeil; his great-grandson, James Gibson; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
A memorial service with interment to follow in the columbarium will be held on Thursday, June 11, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi St., Little Rock, AR 72207. The family will receive guests at the reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi St., Little Rock, AR 72207, or to Arkansas Heart Hospital, 1701 S. Shackleford Rd., Little Rock, AR 72211. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
