Biography:
Rose Jean Tipton of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, intelligence, and remarkable life experiences.
Born on January 28, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Amy Leigh Heath and Robert Ray Morgan, Sr., Rose Jean’s early life was shaped by frequent moves due to her father’s work as a traveling sewing machine salesman. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on the world and a lifetime of stories. She often shared a vivid memory of living in a home once occupied by the infamous Bonnie and Clyde, recalling the bullet holes that remained in the screen door.
Exceptionally bright, Rose Jean graduated high school three years early, a reflection of her advanced academic abilities and determination. Her adventurous spirit led her to live a full and fascinating life. As a young woman, she achieved the impressive feat of soloing an aircraft, and later, she proudly held the title of deputy sheriff while working for her employer, Craig Campbell, in Little Rock.
Rose Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herrell Tipton; her brother, Robert Ray Morgan, Jr.; her niece, Mary Kathryn Peacock of Little Rock, Arkansas; her nephew, Robert Ray Morgan III of Little Rock, Arkansas; her nephew, James William Morgan of Osceola, Arkansas; and her great-nephew, Mark Morgan Peacock.
She is survived by her loving family, including her great-nieces: Amy Leigh Morgan (her mother’s namesake) of Haslet, Texas; Sarah Morgan of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Jennifer Mollenkopf of Allen, Texas. She also leaves behind her great-nephew, Robert Craig Peacock of Memphis, Tennessee; her great-great-nieces: Sophia Claire Raye Morgan, Emileigh Jaymes Morgan, Vivienne Rose Morgan (her namesake), Marleigh White of Blytheville, Arkansas, and Bridget Phelps of Allen, Texas; as well as her great-great-nephew, Morgan Russell of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Rose Jean will be remembered for her sharp mind, her independent spirit, and the rich stories she carried from a life well lived. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
