Biography:
Ellen Mae Dreyfuss, 64, died March 19, 2026 surrounded by loving friends after a long journey with brain cancer.
She was born April 4,1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Preceded in death were her father Harold Levy Dreyfuss and mother Odessa "Odie" Davis Dreyfuss Holzhauer.
Her mother remarried in 1973 to Herbert Holzhauer from Gillett, Arkansas. She was twelve when they moved. Ellen went to school and graduated 1980 Gillett High School. Ellen was a "big city girl" and moved back to Little Rock. She worked many years for Wilson & Associates as their receptionist.
Ellen never turned down an opportunity to have fun. Her mother instilled in her the importance of always looking your best, and her being 5'9", she looked beautiful at every occasion, especially wearing her favorite color--purple!
One of her passions was Jazzercise, going to classes up to 6 days a week, for 40 years! She has so many very close friends and LOVED going. All through her cancer diagnosis and treatments, her ONE question to the doctor was, "When can I go back to Jazzercise?"
Another passion was her love for going to rock concerts all over the country. She loved the classics: Cher, Fleetwood Mac, but her all time favorite was Heart. She traveled to many of their concerts, going all out with VIP passes. The last Heart concert she attended was February 25th,(last month) at Simmons Arena in North Little Rock. All of her friends know her favorite song -- Barracuda!
Her diagnosis brought all of her friends together, helping her with appointments, shopping... everything. We are especially grateful to UAMS Cancer Center, Proton Center, and Hospital, all of the doctors, nurses, and teams to guide us through this disease.
Two months ago she was moved to The Greenhouse Cottages of Poplar Grove. They have been so good with all of her needs and transporting to appointments and even the concert. Their staff loved Ellen, her energy and humor. They kept her busy with fun events. Eventually, Gentiva Hospice helped her (and us) with her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to UAMS Cancer Center.
All of Ellen's friends are forever connected as her adopted "sister cousins" and we are forever grateful to have gotten to know her and each other. We love you Ellen! Whoop Whoop!
My sincere condolences to family and friends.
Rest in peace my friend.
