Biography:

Edgar “Daniel” Easley passed away after a long, hard-fought battle against addiction at the age of 29.  Known for his charm, humor, and love for dogs and sports, he was a light to those who knew him.

Daniel was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in August of 1996 to David and Diane Easley. Daniel attended Our Lady of the Holy Souls School followed by Catholic High School for Boys.

Daniel spent the last three years of his life in Los Angeles, California. Shortly before his death, he had several meaningful conversations with friends and family about the role God had played in his life since moving out there.

Despite his best efforts to overcome his addiction, the grip was too strong.  We remember Daniel not for his mistakes, but for the loving son, brother and friend he was.

Daniel is survived by his parents Diane and David Easley, his sister Katie McClanahan (Alan, George and Claire) and his brother Benjamin Easley (Lexie). He is also survived by his grandparents Edgar Easley and Betty Jo Foreman Easley, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral mass will be offered for Daniel on Friday, March 27th at 10am at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 26th at Ruebel Funeral Home from 5-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wolfe Street Foundation’s Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) at wolfestreet.org/donate or Wolfe Street Foundation P.O. Box 3708 Little Rock, AR 72203.

To the Easley Family,
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Daniel. I will always cherish my memories of him with your trips to St. Louis in summer, Christmas, and family reunions.
He always had ideas for starting his own business from a t-shirt business using his own artwork to car detailing. He was an entrepreneur with lots of ideas, even as a teenager.
He will be sorely missed. I am comforted believing that he is at peace and met in heaven by Gma Dorothy and they will have lots of conversations about the STL Cardinals this season.
Love to you all

I wish words could heal grief but they don’t.
Hopefully they can send love to you as you deal with such sadness.

Dear Easley Family: We are so sorry for your loss. We remember so many good times we had with Daniel, both at family reunions and at the Vogelrosa. How much fun we had at the Mizzou & Arkansas football games, both in Fayetteville, Little Rock and Columbia over the years. I remember Daniel getting to meet the Texas football team at their hotel (when they played Mizzou in Columbia) and getting some very impressive autographs! He was a great and loyal fan of the Hogs. Now he is with Mom and Dad, and his suffering is over. I hope you will all find peace. Daniel finally did. Love to you all! Gary and Cathy

David and Diane,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I didn’t know Daniel, but based on the comments, he must have gotten his sense of humor from you, David. I can only imagine your pain; I pray for comfort and peace for you in the weeks and years ahead.

You don't know me, but I, too, lost a child to addiction. And she also tried and tried to overcome it. Let's remember their bravery in their struggles and honor their life, not the reason for their passing. Sincere condolences for your loss and emptiness.

I hope you know we all loved you so much, Daniel. I have so many memories from family reunions and visiting you all in Little Rock over the years. You always had such a sharp sense of humor and wanted to make people laugh. I am imagining you reunited with grandma Dorothy and grandpa Ben in heaven, and that you finally found peace. Love, your cousin Kim

Katie and family,
Please know that the entire Hayes/Bratton family is holding you in prayer and love. We feel your pain as we too lost our much loved Wells to addiction.

Daniel is with you each and every day, of that we are sure. Our entire family is but a call away if we can do anything to lessen your grief or simply to offer a shoulder for support from one family to another. Daniel's humor and loving spirit left an indelible mark on those who knew him. A true dog whisperer if ever there was one.

May the Peace of the Lord be with each of you. Mark and Alison Hayes, Colin Hayes, Franz Hayes and Bliss Bratton.

Leave your Condolence
