Biography: Geraldene Elizabeth Johnston Wortz, age 99, of Little Rock, died February 9, 2008. Geraldene was born March 9, 1908, in Greenwood, Arkansas, to the late John Calvin Johnston and Mayme Rowe Johnston. She graduated from Fort Smith High School before attending The Searcy College, once known as Searcy Male and Female College. Upon completion of her business degree she became one of the first women in Arkansas to receive a college education. After marrying Johnny Limberg she moved to Fort Smith and began her fifty year carrier with the Fort Smith Housing Authority. In the mid 1950s she remarried Charlie Wortz. Later in life she moved to Little Rock to be closer to her two sons. When she wasn’t dedicating her life to public service she enjoyed playing bridge and fishing. She is preceded in death by her son Jerry Limberg. She is survived by her son Jim Kay Limberg of Little Rock, and two grandsons Jake Limberg of Little Rock and David Limberg. There will be a private family service at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
