Elizabeth (Elsa) Henry Crocker

Nov 20th, 1943 - Feb 2nd, 2026

Biography:

Elizabeth (Elsa) Henry Crocker, a woman of sharp intellect and an indomitable spirit, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. Born in 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Dr. Charles R. Henry and Marguerite Keller Henry and was the eldest of three siblings. After graduating from Hall High School, Elsa attended Indiana University in Bloomington. A proud member of Alpha Phi sorority, she served as the New Member Educator, beginning a lifelong dedication of mentoring others.

Following graduation, Elsa moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to work in medical records at John Gaston Hospital. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dr. Charles Crocker. The two were married at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, beginning a partnership that would span 57 years. After a period living in Memphis, Bruce, Mississippi, and Atlanta, the couple returned to Little Rock in 1980.

Throughout her life, Elsa worked in the field of Health Information Management. At the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), she notably served as Clinical Services Manager. A long-standing leader within the Arkansas Health Information Management Association (ArHIMA), Elsa served as President and a board member. In 2011, she received the ArHIMA Distinguished Member Award, a testament to her professional achievement.

Elsa’s hands were rarely still. A lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, she served on the vestry as Senior Warden and coordinated the marriage ministry. She was a dedicated member of the Needlepoint Guild, personally hand-stitching 25 of the 447 kneelers that remain as a part of the Cathedral’s 17-year project and her legacy to a service she loved. Elsa was a part of the core needlepoint team from the beginning of the project until the end.

She took pride in following her mother’s footsteps as a member of the Aesthetic Club, founded in Little Rock in 1883. Elsa also lent her time to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, where she combined her organizational skills and love for the arts by volunteering for that organization.

Elsa and Charles shared a passion for discovery, traveling across the country and around the globe. Closer to home, she expressed her love through time with friends and family around the table. Her family will cherish the memory of many great meals, particularly her Sunday morning New Orleans-style brunches.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Charles Crocker; her children, Maggie Crocker Grove (David) of Vienna, VA and Charles Hawkins Crocker Jr. (Chase), and the grandchildren she absolutely adored, Charles Hawkins Crocker III and Margaret Elizabeth Crocker, of Little Rock. She is also survived by her sister, Kate Henry Allen and brother, Dr. Charles Reid Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Charles Reid Henry and Marguerite Keller Henry.

A private funeral will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock, with an interment in the Treadway Garden. Please honor Elsa with a memorial donation given to the ministries of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th Street, Little Rock, AR 72206. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Elsa's wonderful laugh was legendary and contagious to all. She made us all laugh along with her, even if we didn't know the reason. She was a loyal friend, always keeping up by phone. She loved to entertain special friends, and was a wonderful cook. We will miss her deeply. The Cockrills
