Biography:
Marilyn Jan Smith, age 80, of Little Rock, and formerly of La Porte, Wabash, and Indianapolis, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Born on September 28, 1945, Marilyn dedicated 30 years of her life to a compassionate career in nursing. After raising her children in Wabash and Indianapolis, she became an esteemed and caring nurse at St. Vincent's and UAMS Medical Centers. Her commitment and empathy left a lasting impact on countless patients and the colleagues she mentored. As a testament to her exceptional care, she was proudly named Nurse of the Year at St. Vincent's during her career.
Beyond her professional life, Jan had a great love for travel, taking vacation cruises to many places, including Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, Washington State, and California, creating many cherished memories. She was also a devoted animal lover who had many dogs over the years. A woman of strong faith, she held a special and comforting belief in guardian angels.
Marilyn was a loving and devoted mother and a beloved member of her family. She is survived by her son, Ed Bozovsky; her sisters, Linda and Jill; and their families, which include her cherished grandchildren, Randy and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Bozovsky, and her sister, Debbie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
