Biography:

Pamela Baumgardner Dixon, 69, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.

Pam was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and raised in El Dorado, Arkansas. A graduate from the University of Arkansas in 1978, she began her professional life as a teacher in the El Dorado Public School District, where she poured her energy into guiding students. She later graduated from the William H. Bowen School of Law in 1995 with Honors and pursued a career in law as a successful trial attorney with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Beyond her work, Pam was known for her compassionate spirit, selflessness, and sharp sense of humor that could lighten any moment, but would also show you her competitive side if you dared challenge her to a face-off while watching Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. She had an immense passion for cooking that she enjoyed sharing with others, and her Christmas decorating was second to none. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, and friend to many.

Pam and her husband of 32 years, Steve, shared a deep love for their animals, and over the years, their home was always filled with the companionship of many dogs and cats who were truly part of the family.
Pam was a proud member of Chi Omega and treasured the lifelong friendships she made there. She will be remembered not only for her dedication to her family, her students, and the people she served, but also for her warmth, laughter, and generosity of spirit.

Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Baumgardner, and her father, Tom Baumgardner. She is survived by her husband, Steve Dixon; her daughter, Lindsey Hosford; her son, Marcus Hosford and his wife, Jess; her grandchildren, Reese and Savannah; her brother, Paul Baumgardner and his wife, Melissa; her sister-in-law, Diane Key and her husband, Richard; and her nieces, Tyler Baumgardner Schaller, Chaney Baumgardner, Ashlyn Key and Cassidy Key.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter or to a charity supporting education or equal rights, causes reflecting Pam’s lifelong values.

A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Thursday, September 4th, from 5:00 - 7:00, followed by a memorial service at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, on Friday, September 5th, at 11:00 AM.

P.S. For any grammatical errors found above, please contact God directly. Pam will be notified. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Sending prayers for peace and guidance for the family during this incredibly different time in their lives. I did not know Pam personally, but her daughter, Lindsey, is a close friend of mine. Pam must have been an extraordinary woman, because she raised an extraordinary daughter.

Oh Pam,

You've thrown me for a loop! Just in one week I know I have thought about texting you at least 10x about food, to vent, for small talk, and advice. Our text log is now one of my most prized possessions. You taught me more than you will ever know including cooking, decorating, and being reasonable, and outspoken but kind,..... I will FOREVER carry on the tradition of my food Christmas tree tradition that you started, milk punch, and summers macaroni. You deserved to be here longer, it is not fair. I only find a little comfort in knowing you are reunited with Tom and Jeanne - We will honor you every chance we can and you will NEVER be forgotten, I love you.
