Biography: Joshua Lange Pawelak, age 22, of Little Rock, died Saturday, February 11, 2006. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on December 10, 1983. Josh was baptized at two weeks of age at Saint Mary’s University in San Antonio by Father Charles Blasen, SM, and was later confirmed Francis at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew here in Little Rock by Bishop McDonald. Josh was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. A 2002 graduate of Catholic High School, where he played trombone in the Jazz Band, Josh was an engineering major at UALR, after having attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Josh enjoyed buying, repairing, and selling old cars of all kinds, but especially Camaros. A sweet and sensitive young man who loved animals, he had many close friends. Josh was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Bernard Lange; and paternal grandparents, Casimer and Jean Pawelak. Survivors include his mother, Dr. Bernadette Lange Rieger and husband David of Little Rock; father, James Pawelak of Little Rock; a brother, Benjamin Joseph Lange Pawelak of Philadelphia, Penn.; paternal uncle, Jerome Pawelak of Gurnee, Ill.; maternal aunts and uncles, George Lange of Midland, Tex., Karen Brickey of Boerne, Tex., Christopher Lange of San Antonio, Tex., and Father Maurice Lange, OMI, of Godfrey, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Eunice Marie Lange of Moore, Tex. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2006, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, officiated by Father Maurice Lange, OMI. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Catholic High School.
