I was John's roommate at West Point. He was a natural leader and always full of good humor. Little did we know that he would be such a medical star.

John has been a true blessing to me and my family for nearly fifty years: as a visionary leader of the UAMS ophthalmology department; as a professional colleague; as a long-time golf partner; and most importantly as a cherished best friend. His passing leaves a large void in our hearts. We thank God for his life, which so positively touched countless other lives in Arkansas and far beyond. I am grateful for the many good memories I have of John. I will never drink a McDonalds mocha frappe without fondly remembering him and our weekly get-togethers at McDonalds, often after our golf games.
Nancy, Jeff, and Brad, please know you have our condolences, thoughts, and prayers during this very sad time. God bless you.
