Biography: Lola Elnora Moses Vandiver, of Little Rock, passed away on January 16, 2008 at the age of 93. She had lived a long remarkably healthy life, facing only an early brief bout with cancer at the age of 35. She was a lifelong resident of the Little Rock area, descending from Pioneer residents of Hampton, Arkansas. Her parents were Angelous Gaston Moses and Mittie Mae Tomlinson. Her three siblings; Frederick Douglas Moses, Charles Hillman Moses and Marion Maxine Moses Greeson all predeceased her. She married Robert Lester Vandiver Jr. on July 15, 1933. Their marriage produced four children, all living today. Her husband passed away in 1985 following a prolonged bout with heart related problems. Her eldest child, Carol Ann Haydon, resides in Little Rock with husband, Robert Haydon. They have two children, Robert Wayne Haydon of Little Rock and Jayne Ellen Smith of Omaha, Nebraska with husband Scott Allan Smith and their children, Haydon Scott Smith and Audrey Caroline Smith. Her son, Robert Lester Vandiver III, lives in Crossett, Arkansas. He has two children, Robert Lester Vandiver IV of Atlanta, Georgia and William Howard Vandiver and wife, Lisa of Crossett. Robert Lester IV has three children, Lindsay Michelle, Lauren Elizabeth and Robert Lester V, all of Atlanta. William Howard has two children, Madelyne Jane and Leah Kelsey of Crossett. Her daughter, Linda Kay is married to Dwight Owens and she has a daughter, Shari Stoll. All live in Carmel, Indiana. The youngest daughter, Susan, lives in Little Rock with husband, Gernoth Brent (Bill) Young along with their daughter, Amanda Beth (Mandy) Young Lola was devoted to her children and to the Winfield Methodist Church where she was a member for more than 50 years.
