Biography: Nancy McCans Clark passed away peacefully at her home on May 30, 2025. She was born on December 22,1947 in Fort Sill and spent her childhood in Oklahoma with her parents, Bill and Marie, and her siblings, Bill, Sue, and Pat. As the youngest of four children, she shared fond (and often funny) memories of being the baby of the family.
In 1975, Nancy married Mike and began their lives together as a family – with her son Todd, and Mike’s daughters, Melissa and Jenna. Mike and Nancy would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
Nancy had a gift for numbers and helped many people secure loans for their homes over the years as a mortgage banker. She loved to shop for bargains and could get the most for every dollar spent. She was a voracious reader, loved to play cards, and savored her morning coffee.
Nancy’s greatest joy was her family, and she spent her time and energy taking care of them. She enjoyed her many vacations and road trips – especially her annual trips to Lake Quachita with her children (and later grandchildren), travels across Europe, high tea in Victoria, BC, driving tour at Glacier National Park in Montana, Sea World and Chicago with the grandkids, and Custer State Park in South Dakota.
Nancy was an avid student of the Bible and a strong believer. Her favorite season was Christmas, and she spent hours decorating her home and finding the perfect gifts for her loved ones. She loved to cook and sew. When she had a vegetable garden, she became an excellent canner.
With all of Nancy’s gifts, her special calling was to be a Nana to her grandchildren and an Aunt Nancy to her nieces and nephews – making each one of them feel special and loved.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Mike Clark; her children, Jeffery Todd Clark, Melissa Clark (John) Bacon and Jennifer Clark (Matt Oberlies); her treasured grandchildren Miller Bacon, Caroline Born, and Nick Born; her sister, Pat Currie; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.
A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, with a reception to follow. Memorials may be made in Nancy’s memory to Arkansas Hospice Foundation or a charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
