Biography: Mildred Quinn, age 91, of Little Rock, arrived home with God on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Mildred was born in Texarkana, Arkansas and attended Texarkana High School graduating in 1951.  After graduation she was the first in her family to attend college, graduating from Hendrix in 1955.  While in college, she met her husband, Luke W. Quinn.  They were married after college, living in San Diego, CA while he was a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Navy.  After completing his service in the Navy, they moved to Little Rock where he began his career in Commercial Real Estate, raised their family and were active in their community.

Mildred was a member of the Arkansas Arts Center Fine Arts Club, where she served as President, was Co-Chairperson of Tabriz, served on the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Board, as well as President of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary.
After years of community service, she pursued business becoming a Director for KidCo, Inc. and later acquiring the KidCo Child Care Center at the Arkansas School for the Deaf, where she ran her business for 25 years and caring for her incredible staff and hundreds of preschool age children.

When her children were in school, she was actively involved in PTA, volunteering at Williams Elementary, Hall High School, Girl Scouts and not to mention, attending every sporting event her children chose to play.  While raising her family, her most cherished times were spent with her children and their friends, hosting countless Tri Delta members for Razorback weekends and time spent at Lake Ouachita.

Mildred was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Scattered Seeds Garden Club, the Arkansas Art Center and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Kelli Thomas (Phil), her son Walter Quinn (Terry); and grandchildren, Luke Quinn (Annaleigh), Marge Anna Quinn Caston (Wade), Meredith Thomas, Kathleen Thomas Lile (Garrett), great grandchildren, George Caston, Quinn Caston, Ellie Lile, and Merritt Quinn. Mimi always had time for her grandchildren, playing, gardening and making costumes for special occasions.  She was beloved.

Mildred enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing bridge. Floral arrangements were one of her favorite past times along with her lifelong joy of collecting fine antiques. We will miss her greatly and remember her “can I give you a hug” upon every visit.

The family will hold a private service at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, please consider memorials to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.

My oldest daughter turns 31 this year and she attended Kidco from 6 weeks of age until she was 4. Mrs. Quinn and her staff (Beverly, Cynthia, Erma and many more) had a great impact on my daughter and the adult she grew up to be. I will forever be grateful for them. Sending prayers to Mrs. Quinn's family and friends.

My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Mrs. Quinn. She and her staff made an impact on the lives of so many children and put working parents at ease, knowing their precious bundles would be cared for. All three of my children were blessed to attend Kidco and we are so appreciative of the experience. May God give the family comfort and peace as they travel through this season of life.
