Cindy was born on 12 September 1957 in Hayti, Missouri to Harold Jackson and Betty Boone Jackson. She grew up on the family farm in the Bootheel of Missouri near Deering, Missouri. She attended Southeast Missouri State, leaving after a year to marry Ron Young, her first husband and father to her sons. She and Ron farmed near Deering.
After several years, she went back to college at Arkansas State University getting a degree in Education. Cindy then served as a 6th grade schoolteacher at the Delta C-7 School in Deering and later taught in Memphis, Tennessee and Blytheville, Ark. She returned to ASU for her master’s in counseling degree. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor and worked as a psychotherapist at Mid-South Health Systems. She married Bert in 1996. She practiced with Bert at the Price Clinic in Jonesboro as an LPC and LPC Supervisor in Jonesboro for many years. In the mid 2000’s she became a certified yoga teacher.
Cindy retired from practice in 2016 when they moved to Little Rock.
Cindy was a world traveler. Starting as a young girl she traveled overseas every summer with her mother, Granny Sarah, Granny Jackson and Granny Boone while their husbands farmed. She continued her travels with Bert.
She loved her time at the lake house at Lake Norfork with her children and grandchildren. She was the best boat pilot in the family. Launching boats at the ramp was another matter when drain plugs, keys and kill switches were often forgotten when the family boat launching complex constellated!
Cindy developed deep and meaningful relationships with her women friends as they explored many aspects of spirituality. She was wholly open to unlimited possibilities, deeply impacting many. Cindy explored many spiritual paths and specifically was deeply engaged in the study of A Course in Miracles- a path of inner transformation and the practice of forgiveness. She aimed to align her perception with divine love rather than fear, experiencing inner peace and awakening.

I was very sad to hear of the loss of Cindy. She was my graduate assistant at ASU and was excellent in that role and as a graduate student. She was a wonderful person and professional counselor. Think of you and the family at a most difficult time.
With Sympathy,
John D. Hall
