Biography: Carol Bruce Chilcoat passed away Saturday, March 15, at the age of 82. She was born in LaFollette, Tennessee, the first of three daughters for Joe Neal Bruce and Irene Murphy Bruce. She spent her life in East Tennessee and graduated from Karns High School in 1960.
 
Carol was the very definition of a domestic goddess, with skills ranging from cooking to cake decorating to sewing to cutting her daughter’s hair in a perfect “wedge.”  Nothing was second rate when she put her hands to it. She was at her happiest when she could make life special for others. Of the various jobs she held, she was probably most in her element working for Miller’s Department Store in Knoxville.
 
In addition to her family, she loved—in no particular order—animals, Neil Diamond, pizza, Christmas, white sandals in the summertime, ice cream, rom coms, coffee, hairspray, and football.
 
Carol was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her children, Mark Chilcoat of Knoxville and Jennifer Chilcoat (Dianne Campbell) of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters Gail Stewart (Howard) of Chattanooga and Kathy Bost of Germantown; and adored grandson Henry Chilcoat of Little Rock, Arkansas.
