Biography: John Edgar Hooker Jr, born on March 30, 1955, passed away on February 15, 2025, surrounded by a lifetime’s worth of friends, family, and loved ones.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Melba. He was a courageous and gentle soul, and carried a tremendous thirst for adventure, life, and the little moments.
He is lovingly remembered by his three children, Hannah, James, and John, devoted partner Jannine, and an immeasurable wealth of family, friends, and community.
His family will be forever grateful for the love he espoused for all people, the incredible example set by his life, and his unflinching dedication to do what was right.
A funeral will be held on Friday, February 21 at 1pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in North Little Rock, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks only for donations to St. Francis House.
