Dear Helen, please know you are in our prayers. You and Max were some of the first people I met in Audubon and that was many years ago! You both have contributed greatly to the conservation community and are respected and appreciated for your dedication, support, and leadership. Thank you, Jane and Tom Gulley

Dear Helen,
We had heard of you and Max from a birding acquaintance in California before moving to Arkansas, so we were looking forward to meeting you both. We are thankful we had the opportunity to meet Max. We began to understand why he is so loved and admired. You have our deepest sympathies.

Max was one of the most special people we have ever met. Everyone who knew him knows how much he gave to both birders and birding and yet that was only a small part of the wonderful person he was. We were priviledged to know him.
