Biography: Surrounded by his loving family, Lewis C Grounds, 80 years old of Mountain View, Arkansas went to be with Jesus on Saturday October 19, 2024. Lewis is survived by his two sons Gregory Grounds (wife Rose Grounds) and Lewis D Grounds (wife Molly Grounds), his beloved and cherished Carolyn Wood of 36 years, her son Glen Wood Jr. her daughter Trina Stiverson (husband Scott Stiverson) and all of his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew him best as Papa Lew, Paw Paw and Super Grampers.

Lewis was born and raised in Little Rock, went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas, and had a very successful career at Southwestern Bell. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, hiking/exploring, and antiquing.  He had a true passion for collecting and refurbishing vintage Coleman lanterns.  He also developed a love for photography at very young age when he received his first camera and was very proud in later years to have some of his “Mountain Man” photographs featured at the Arkansas Craft Guild. And of course, he loved spending time together with Carolyn and family in Mountain View.
Lewis is preceded in death by his treasured mother, Virginia Grounds, and three siblings, Grant B. Heard, Evelyn Malone, and John Heard Jr.

The family would like to especially thank the caring nurses and staff of Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ruebel Funeral Home chapel followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Lewis, I am going to miss you buddy even thought we haven't seen each other in probably 60 years. I will always treasure our friendship during starting at Jefferson elementary, then Jr High and High School1 I kept you "out of trouble" while you always kept me " in trouble". Of course you thought that was great fun!! You always had that little bit of "impishness" in you to go along with your easy way of laughter and light heartedness. Glad you are with Jesus......and I'm coming up one of these days to be with you for "pay back" time! Your friend, Chuck Meyer.
