Biography: David Scott Henry passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Scott was born on September 1, 1953, in Little Rock and attended the Catholic High School for Boys under the close watch of Father George Tribou. As a young man in high school he embarked on several adventures, the most notable being an attempted move to the Cayman Islands with close friends, which came to an abrupt halt when it was discovered that one of their parties left a note for his parents explaining his absence and the planned destination. Everyone returned home safely from Miami excepting the falcon.
Scott attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and studied biology, then went on to a career in sales. His adventurous spirit and love of the sea were life-long traits, and he once sailed from Hawaii to San Francisco on a small sailboat with a crew of three men. His view of the Golden Gate Bridge rising out of the mist of San Francisco Bay was recounted time and again to friends and acquaintances and is a favorite story of his sons. He married Kimbra Killett in 1978 and raised three sons with her while living in in Florida, California, and Texas. He retired to Little Rock and married Kay Farmer Carle Henry where they spent the rest of their lives together.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Audrey Henry and Daryl “Big D” Henry, his sister Karen Henry, and his wife Kay Henry. He is survived by his sister Rebecca Masching, his son David Henry and daughter-in-law Britin Bostick, his sons Justin Henry and Nicholas Henry, his niece Mary Masching, his nephew John Masching, and his dear friend Rogina Mitchell of Little Rock.
Scott will be laid to rest at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church next to his wife Kay in a private family ceremony. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
