Biography: Sandra Dickinson Pruitt, 82, of Little Rock, left us to spend eternity in Heaven on September 15, 2024. She was born December 20, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Miriam F. Sanders and George W. Dickinson.

She is survived by her son David Pruitt (Debbie) of Austin, Texas along with their four children, David, Jr. (Claire), Parker (Storm), Clayton and Catherine along with two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Blaise and her daughter Laura Joseph (Brad) of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by one sister, Anne Monahan. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Hollis Pruitt.

Sandra graduated from Hall High School and Capitol City Business College. She retired from the State of Arkansas Revenue Department after a lengthy employment. She volunteered with many associations and was a past President of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Little Rock. She was a woman of many talents, had a fabulous memory and enjoyed reciting anyone’s birthday, anniversary or “life story” if asked. Her favorite pastime was playing any game with family and friends, making crafts with grandchildren and spending time solving puzzles. Sandra was a deeply caring and polite person to all she met.

She was a lifelong member of Temple B’nai Israel. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Briarwood in Little Rock, for the care she received.

A private service and burial at Oakland Cemetery are planned for family members. Memorial donations may be made to the Congregation B’nai Israel Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

She was a great lady and in many ways, a second Mom to me. I have many fond memories of her and she will be missed.

I had the pleasure of becoming acqainted and then friends with Sandra and Hollis in their retirement years. I will always treaure the time I spent sitting in their living room, enjoying their warm-hearted, witty company. Indeed, as the writing says, Sandra was a gentle and kind lady. I am better off because of her outsized heart. May her memory be a blessing.

To Sandra and Hollis’s family, Sandra was gracious, fun and remembered everything. She and Hollis were friends of my family including Dickinsons and Butlers. We would speak about being cousins, and Sandra was always nice and thoughtful.
I send my heartfelt sympathy and love and I am very sorry for your loss. Kindest regards,
Nan Ellen
