Biography: Mary Louise White Pennington, known as “Lucy” to all, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Born on October 17, 1947 to Jack and Annie White, Lucy was raised in Pittsboro, North Carolina. She later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas but remained a devout Carolina Tarheels fan.

Lucy had a unique way with words, loved playing her Motown at top volume, and always kept those around her on their toes. She raised her children with tough love and the use of fly swatter as needed.

She is survived by her son Allen Pennington of Cammack Village, her daughter Elizabeth Pennington Mayes, favorite son-in-law Barrett of Little Rock, and a host of chosen family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Woody Pennington.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday July 31^st, at Ruebel Funeral Home. A graveside ceremony will be held at 9am on Thursday August 1^st, at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Services under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

I will never forget Lucy’s laugh. She had such a great sense of humor and style. Elizabeth, Allen and Barrett my heart is broken for you, she was such a dear sweet lady and will be dearly missed.

Lucy was a very good and loving person who I worked with party with and dearly loved as one of my friends. I will miss her but I know she is in the very best place and that is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

There was never a dull moment when Lucy was in the room! She was so welcoming to me, always making sure I was well fed and having a great time when I came to visit—since I was 10 years old to adulthood.
