Biography: Neena Louise Grissom, 72, of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the University of Arkansas Medical School (UAMS) in Little Rock.  She was born March 25, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to Harold and Beverly Shipman.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UAMS and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.  She taught Graduate Nursing Education  and Undergraduate Pharmacology courses at UAMS.  She retired in 2018.  
 
She was united in marriage to Dr. James Grissom June 26, 1976 who preceded her in death in May 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her parents.
 
Survivors include her brother Harold Shipman, Jr (Judy) of Memphis, TN, sister Nancy Harbaugh (Mark) of Oklahoma City, OK, and sister-in-law Sara Gilliam (Johnny) of Hoxie, AR; nieces Hayley Harbaugh of Warrensburg, MO and Sonya Dry of Walnut Ridge, AR; nephews Jake Harbaugh (Lindsey) of Oklahoma City, Brian Shipman (Missy) of Memphis, and Matt Gilliam of Jonesboro, AR; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday August 2 at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday August 3 at Ruebel Funeral Home.  A family internment ceremony will be Monday, August 5 at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.   
 
In lieu of flowers contributions to Pulaski County Humane Society or CARE for Animals, Inc. in Little Rock are suggested. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

I have fond memories of being on the faculty with Neena. My sympathy goes to her family and friends who will miss her. Ann Coleman
