Biography: PATRICIA M. KING (Dunn), age 95. Passed away June 21, 2024. Loving wife of Russ for 68 years, who predeceased her in 2016; devoted mother of Kathy (Don) and Reed (Judy), cherished grandmother of Piper, Russell and Katelyn (Jared).

She lived a fairy-tale life; at age 19 she married a King, moved to Little Rock, and lived happily ever after.  She traveled the world with Russ and friends, including a balloon ride above the Serengeti and a mailboat cruise on the Danube.  Pat assisted Russ with many volunteer activities in the community, especially The Stewpot, serving food and helping to wash the dishes for 22 years.

Pat was born near Marshalltown, Iowa, to the Dunn family (father Anthony, mother Catherine), the eldest of five children.  While she grew up helping with work on the family farm, she spent her high school years in Glendale, California, and returned to the University of Iowa for a B.S. in Education (English).  In Little Rock, she loved being an elementary teacher for 19 years (Jefferson and Romine Schools).

An avid bridge player, she enjoyed her weekly games with many friends.  She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain.
In particular, she loved talking about her grandchildren, and their adventures and accomplishments.

Pat was a Eucharistic minister to homebound parishioners, and a faithful communicant at Holy Souls Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of The Holy Souls Church, 1003 N. Tyler St.; private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Stewpot, 800 Scott Street, or to the Msgr. Allen Trust Fund, Holy Souls Church, Attn: Amy Bratcher.  Arrangements by RuebelFuneralHome.com

Kathy and Reed,
I am so sorry to read about your mother. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Seeing that she was an excellent cook is not
surprising because I still remember how wonderful your house smelled when you had me over, Kathy.
Your mother was always so nice to me whenever I saw her.
She was such a gracious lady.
With warmest thoughts,
Lisa Bailey Trimble
