Biography: Ruthann Luedicke Grobmyer passed away peacefully on February 12,2024.

Ruthie was born to Dorothy Henderson and Clare Luedicke on May 17, 1941 in Hot Springs, AR. Ruthie excelled in school as a young teenager while living abroad with her family. She studied at the American Supported schools in several different countries including Scotland, Italy and the Netherlands. When in Scotland, she attended the prestigious private Cranley School in Edinburgh and was an accomplished horseback rider. And in her teenage years she was a skilled dog show participant, specifically poodles, and won a show.

In her college years, Ruthie attended the University of Arkansas, where she mastered Journalism and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She was an exceptional writer for the Arkansas Democrat for many years.

In 1961, she met Joel Y. Ledbetter, Jr and they married in 1963. They had two daughters Talbot Cooley and Shay Mason. Later, she married John R. Grobmyer III and they had one son, Michael.

Ruthie worked in the insurance industry and for many years at the Arkansas Poultry Federation that she fondly called “the chicken house” as well as RPM Group. She made lifelong friends wherever she went.

She was an exceptional cook and loved doing it, as well as taking many cake decorating classes.
Her most special moments were surrounding herself with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her RuRu.  All the grandchildren had nicknames.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Clare Luedicke. She is survived by her sister, Constance Luedicke of Austin, TX, Daughters, Talbot Cooley (Matthew), Shay Mason (Patrick), Son, Michael Grobmyer (Bess), Daughter, Mitzi Tiffee (Rob) and grandchildren Joel and Johnny Cooley, Will Pearson, Claudia and Jiles Grobmyer, Henry, Mary Miller and Ford Fontes, Lawson and Fortner Tiffee.

A special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and Premier Springs Health and Rehabilitation for the amazing and beautiful care they gave to RuRu.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Arkansas Hospice.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Rubel Funeral Home from 4:30-6:30. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the Chapel at Ruebel Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
