Biography: John Douglas “Doug” Holcomb, 63, beloved husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, died Friday, December 22, 2023. Doug's loving memory is carried on by his wife, Lisa Thompson Holcomb; sisters Emily (Jeff) McRae, Elizabeth (Larry) Watts of Little Rock, Anne (Andrew) Waters of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; aunt and uncle, Steve and Sharrell Holcomb; nine nieces and nephews, an extensive extended family and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Holcomb, and parents, Norman and Carroll Holcomb, of Little Rock.

With his father, Norman, Doug worked in design and development for many years, leaving his mark on the Little Rock landscape with many private homes and condominium communities.

Doug will be remembered for his unmatched humor, quick wit, and kindness. He was an avid artist, gardener, photographer, and captain of the late, great, SS Minnow, a lovingly refurbished Lonestar Cabin Cruiser. Many will remember him navigating the Arkansas River with joy and skill, leaving behind a legacy of fond memories and enduring friendships.

I am very sorry to hear about Doug's passing . I met Doug when my relatives moved across the street from the Holcomb family back in the late 60s . We went to different high schools but would run into each other at different events and parties. Doug always seemed to have a smile on his face and a laugh that was contagious .He was very instrumental in getting me interested in 35mm photography and taught me how to develop film and make prints. Doug was a guy who will be missed . Sending prayers out to all of his family .
