Biography: Mary Elizabeth Jacks, 97, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023. She was born in Carthage, Arkansas, to James W. Crowder, Sr, and Dorothy V. Crowder. Mary attended Henderson State Teachers College where she was one of the top twelve freshman students. For the first part of her career, she worked as an executive secretary for Olin Corporation. She concluded her working career at the Arkansas State Senate at the age of 93.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee Kennon Jacks, her brother, James W. Crowder, and her granddaughter, Lauren Marie Darnell.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Glynda (Bob) Darnell; grandson, Robert (Lindsi) Darnell, Jr; granddaughter, Kelly Darnell; great grandchildren, Bobby and Blake Darnell and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation is Friday, January 5 between 2 and 4 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham Street, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 3 pm at Forest Hills Cemetery, 10200 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (Little Rock) can be made in Mary Jacks’ name. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
I worked with Miss Mary for many many years when she was with the senate and she always depended on me to help her witgh her telephone. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
