Biography: Michael Buford Frost, 68 of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Mike was born on January 14, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri to Buford and Lenora Frost. He was the youngest of three boys. Mike grew up in Mountain Valley, Arkansas and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was baptized with his family at Glazypeau Creek at 10 years old.
Mike attended Fountain Lake High School and excelled academically before attending Henderson State University. Following undergrad, Mike attended pharmacy school at UAMS in Little Rock. While in pharmacy school he was introduced to his future wife, Debbie Roberts, on a blind date. Debbie was his steadfast partner and support for 43 years of marriage.
Mike and his family attended St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock where he made lifelong friends and was an active volunteer in Lauren and Dylan’s church activities. Mike loved the annual deer hunt with Dylan and was a member of Grassy Pond Hunting Club in Bradley County, Arkansas. Mike was a fierce competitor, from coaching Dylan’s soccer teams, to ping pong in the garage, or playing cards and dominoes with his friends. He showed no mercy and took no prisoners. He will be remembered most by his friends and family for his sense of humor and kindness towards others.
More than anything, Mike loved being G Daddy to his four grandsons. It was his love of his family and grandsons that kept Mike strong throughout a more than three-year battle with cancer. Mike fought to the end, never gave up, and kept trying any new procedure or medication if it meant he could get a little more time with his family.
The family would like to thank everyone that supported Mike and Debbie during the past three and a half years. There are too many of you to list but you all gave Mike and Debbie love and prayers when it was needed most.
Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie, their children, Lauren (David) and Dylan (Katie), four grandsons, and his brothers, Steven and Gary.
A celebration service of Mike’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. James United Methodist Church. Mike was a t-shirt and hat kind of guy and the family invites people to wear what makes them feel most comfortable.
