Biography: Cynthia “Cid” Kizewski-Hill (69) passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 8, 2023 surrounded by family.  She was born on May 8,1954 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to her parents, Robert and Anna (Kulas) Kizewski. Cid was the oldest of three.  She grew up in Milwaukee and went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, which led to a Master’s degree in Audiology at the University of Tennessee.  Cid met her late husband, Dr. Allen Hill, in Little Rock.  They married on April 28, 1979. She was a devoted wife and eventually adopted "y'all" into her vocabulary.

She was a dedicated audiologist, working with both children and adults during her career.  While at the Arkansas Department of Health, she was instrumental in establishing a statewide newborn hearing screening program. She retired from the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in 2017.  Cid treasured her many colleagues’ friendships. She was a woman with many talents.  She especially enjoyed quilting and her time at the Stitchin’ Post.  Cid cherished her Holy Souls Church family.  Her twin boys, Joe and Nathan Hill, who she raised single-handedly after Allen’s death in 1996, were her biggest passion.  She loved them dearly.  Nathan fondly remembers her presence in the stands at the baseball fields of Junior Deputy, Lamar Porter and Hendrix College.  Joe admired her quick wit and dry sense of humor.

Cid was beloved by her two daughters-in-law, Laura and Lauren. Cid fondly referred to their time together as being in "La-La Land" (La-ura and La-uren).  She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Charlie, Oliver and Evelyn, who knew her as Gran.  As Gran, she was silly, loving, and had the most contagious laugh.  As Mom, she was selfless, the epitome of sacrifice.  She raised her sons to be great men.  As Cid, she was an anchor, a straight shooter and fiercely loyal to her friends.

She was predeceased by her father and her husband.  She is survived by her mother, her siblings (Renee Kizewski and Gregg Kizewski), her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and numerous members of her extended family.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, December 13th at 6pm at Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a prayer servicer at 7:30 in the chapel (6313 W Markham St, Little Rock, AR 72205).  Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 12pm at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church with an interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Arkansas School for the Deaf Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Where to begin, your mother and I began a wonderful friendship in the early 80,s. We have told many stories and advice to one another over the years. We have laughed and cried together numerous times. She was very proud and bragged about her boys. She was very over joyed at the knowledge of her grand children, when they were born she talked nonstop. She will be missed by many. I loved her dearly and will miss her smile, sense of humor and her friendship.

I am so sorry for your loss of your wonderful mother. I met her at the VA and we talked boys and Jr. Deputy. I didn't have a lot of contact (working different clinics) but when I did you could tell this was a strong loving parent! Such a nice person gone too soon. Her obituary was a lovely tribute. May all those wonderful memories sustain you!

Joe,

Sending our deepest condolences in the loss of your beautiful mom. What an honor it was to read about her life, Cid seemed like an amazing mother and grandmother, and her contributions as an audiologist must have created so many positive impact for the children and families she touched. She left such a gift to the world in her sons, with you being one of the kindest, thoughtful person we’ve met.

All our love to you and Lauren

I am thankful to have known wonderful Cid, and am praying for Joe and Lauren, Nathan and Laura, and her precious grandchildren and family. Cid was a gift to us all, steadfastly devoting herself to her sons, and made us laugh each time together. May she rest in peace as she enjoys a divine reunion with her late husband, face to face with the One we love. We’ll miss you, Cid.
