Biography: John Michael “Mickey” Harbour, Sr., beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2023 at the age of 83. Mickey was born to the late John Franklin Harbour and Hedwig Bischof Harbour in Hot Springs, Arkansas on August 7, 1940.

Mickey graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1958. He attended the University of Arkansas and Little Rock University where he was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. On November 24, 1963 he married the love of his life Judy Green. In 1965, they welcomed a daughter, Caroline Michelle Harbour, and in 1970, a son, John Michael Harbour Jr.

Mickey began a successful career as a mortgage banker in Little Rock, which eventually led him to Tampa, FL in 1970. During his 25 years in Tampa raising his family, he took great pride in supporting his children in all their various activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed tarpon fishing in Boca Grande with many friends, as well as quail hunting in the Florida palmettos.

In 1995, Mickey and Judy returned home to Arkansas. In the years that followed Mickey’s life was defined by the things he was dedicated to: a lifelong passion for duck hunting, his beloved dogs, Scout and Gus, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mickey’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He was a member at St. Andrews Anglican Church where he started the Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group.

He leaves behind a family that loved and adored him. His wife Judy, two children, Caroline Gee (Mark) and John Michael Harbour Jr. (Susan), four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. As well as two sisters, Kathy Cook and Judi Harbour (Lindi). He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his brother Tommy Harbour.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Anglican Church with a graveside service immediately following at Forrest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's Anglican Church in his memory. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Mickey was a great friend and I always left my visits with him feeling refreshed and positive.

Aside from business we shared our thoughts about our “famous” retrievers.

He will be missed but we will all be together again with the saints in God’s place of eternal rest.

Rest well my friend.

I send my heartfelt sympathy to the Harbour family and my friend Caroline at this difficult time. I only met Mickey a few times but he was always outgoing and friendly and the life of the party. I know he will be missed by everyone who loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
