Biography: Betty Jo Robinette passed on September 12, 2023, surrounded by family. Betty was born in Sidon, Arkansas on September 16, 1936. The eldest of six children, Betty learned to take charge early in her life, caring for her siblings and helping run the household. She graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana and attended college. Betty married her high school sweetheart, James Robinette, and moved with James to Little Rock for James to attend medical school. From there, the couple opened a medical practice in Newark and eventually settled in Jonesboro.

Betty raised five children and ran several businesses. She had a successful women’s clothing store, an antiques shop, and a jewelry store. Betty was known for her elegant beauty and kind heart. She loved and cared for everyone, and gave her resources to those in need even when she had to go without, whether it be to family, a friend, or a stranger who knocked on her door. She lived as the Lord instructed:  “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” She prized education, good manners, and hard work, all of which she instilled into her children and grandchildren.

Her hobbies included golf, travel, cooking, antiquing, and spending time with her family. Her children were blessed by her love, and doubly blessed to have her love their children. Betty was the leader of her family, providing unconditional support to all along with her legendary sourdough bread and coconut pie. Sharp-witted, opinionated, and a hard worker, she brought grace to those whose lives she touched.  She was fearless, resilient, and never gave up on bringing out the best part of all of us. She was truly beloved.

Betty is survived by her children, Angela Lovett of Little Rock, AR, Lauryl Hynes (Timothy) of Fayetteville, Georgia Robinette of Little Rock (G. Scott Murphy), Betty Elaine Roger of Springdale (Barney), and Mark Robinette of Little Rock, grandchildren, Christian Branstetter (Dylan), Grace Lovett, Houston Hynes, Grant Hynes, Bennett Murphy, and Luke Robinette, and great-grandchildren Mary Lovett and Lane Branstetter.  She also is survived by siblings Larry Lamb, Carolyn Izard, Shirley Perry, and Tom Lamb.
Betty is predeceased by her parents, Cletus and Vernon Lamb, grandson, Lane Lovett, Jr., son-in-law, Lane Lovett, Sr., and her brother, Edward Lamb.

Visitation will be held on September 15 at Ruebel Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m., with a graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Bryant on September 16 at 3 p.m.

The family gives their heartfelt gratitude to the Presbyterian Village, which cared for Betty in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Presbyterian Village Foundation are welcome. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

So very privilaged and blessed to have had Mimi as a grandma. She loved us so whole heartedly, with strength, confidence, and purpose; illuminating the benefits of lives with love and forgiveness. There is nothing that will fill the void she has left within everyone that knew her, but we can hold our heads high knowing she will always be close in our hearts and minds. I vow to continue her passions of good service, family, and hard work. Thank you everyone for the support for our family. We love you all. And most importantly we love Betty/Mimi and will always cherish the unconditional love she gifted us for so long.

Love your grandson,

Huey aka Herm the Germ
