Biography: James Sterling Warnock passed away unexpectedly on July 19th, 2023. He was born March 30th, 1984 in Little Rock.
He was a 2002 graduate of Central High and earned his degree In Music History and Literature at UALR. He pursued postgraduate studies in Music Therapy at St. Mary of the Woods in Terre Haute, IN. He was living and working in Fayetteville for Mental Health facilities while pursuing his licensure in Music Therapy.
He loved music and was a talented musician, songwriter, and poet but the love of Sterling’s life was his daughter, Aria Rose. Everyone around him saw him light up when she was around and he had a natural talent for being silly and lovingly present when with her.
Sterling was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a founder of the RRR Duck Club in Clarendon, AR. Sterling also loved going to the Hot Springs family cabin with his Grandfather Sterling Cockrill. He cherished his Labradors named Billie Holiday Warnock and Etta James Warnock and to say that he was a serious Jimi Hendrix fan would be a troubling understatement.
Sterling is survived by his daughter Aria Warnock of Bentonville; his parents Anne Cockrill Laser of Little Rock and Steve Warnock of Clarendon, his brother River Warnock of North Little Rock, and his maternal grandmother Adrienne Cockrill of Little Rock. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Sterling Cockrill of Little Rock and his paternal grandparents Jimmy and Freida Warnock of Clarendon.
Memorials should be made to The Jimi Hendrix Foundation at http://www.jimihendrixfoundation
