Biography: Norma Rowell Shipper died in Little Rock, AR on June 15, 2023 just shy of her 90th birthday. Norma was born on June 21,1933 in Hot Springs AR to Alma and Wayne McAfee and was the oldest of eight children. After relocating to Little Rock, the highlight of her career was when she served as the Vice President of Cajun’s Wharf Restaurant. She gained many lifelong friends and celebrated most birthdays and family events there. She later owned Rowell & Associates which fulfilled her curiosity and fascination with discovery and detective work. Norma was smart, quick-witted and very forthright. She loved to travel and enjoyed reading novels in her retirement.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Shipper, her sons Tracy Rowell and Lance Rowell, her sister, Beverly Barlow, and her brothers, Danny McAfee and Don McAfee. She is survived by her son Stephen of Shelbyville, IN, three grandchildren, Joe Rowell (Tustin, CA) Sara Rowell (Bryant) and Emily Rowell (Conway), four great-grandchildren, Stephen Rowell, Joseph Rowell, Bebe Rowell and Isabel Rowell (all of Tustin, CA), siblings Carolyn Spradley (Little Rock), Barbara Williams (Frisco, TX), Wayne McAfee (Austin, TX) and Richard McAfee (Hope, AR).
