Biography: Jane S. Cazort was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 30, 1933.  She was the only daughter of six children born to Edna Maurice Griffin and Claude L. Spencer.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband and father of her children Dr. Lewis R. Sutton; and her brothers Albert Judson, Vernon Eugene, Wallace Edward, and Claude (Bud) Spencer.


She is survived by her brother William (Bill) Spencer and wife Mary Frances; her loving son John Spencer Sutton and wife Marilyn, granddaughter Jessica L. Lee and husband Zane, and great grandson Oliver R. Lee; and her loving son Robert B. Sutton and granddaughter Gina K. Sutton.


She was also preceded in death by her loving husband William Lee Cazort, Jr. and his son John (Lee) Cazort; and is survived by his children Celia Barton; Brad Cazort and wife Susan; Carolyn Franke; Tina Cazort, and Bill Cazort; and by many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Jane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Little Rock and a member of the Dan Pilcher Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Little Rock Duplicate Bridge Club. She also was a volunteer docent at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.  She was a watercolorist and a past member of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists.


Her greatest joy in life was being a stay-at-home mom and having time to be active in school affairs while her children were young. Jane also adored her animals, especially her cats, and leaves her adopted cat Pepper in the care of her children.

There will be a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Little Rock at 10:00 on May 3, 2023. Jane will be interred at the Cazort Family Cemetery in Lamar, Arkansas. Viewing will be available to the public from 9 to 4 on Monday May 1, 2023 at Ruebel Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County or to the animal welfare organization of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
