Biography: Katherine Marie Wold, age 80, passed away on February 21, 2023. She was born on September 30, 1942 to Vernald and Hazel (Nelson) Hagebak in Madison, Minnesota.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, William (Bill) Wold, her three children - daughter Kari DeWeerd and her husband Dennis DeWeerd of Midlothian, Texas, son Scott Wold and his wife Carol of Little Rock, Arkansas, and daughter Kirsta Bradley and her husband Medric Bradley of Lewisville, Texas. She had six grandchildren: Kalli Brunson, Daniel DeWeerd, Dylan Bradley, Nicholas, Ethan and Berit Wold and two great grandchildren - Kasen and Kole Brunson. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Kristin.

She attended a one room grade school in Burr, Minnesota and then graduated from Canby, Minnesota High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State College and received her Masters degree from Northern Kentucky University.

Kay had a passion for teaching and enjoyed her career as an elementary school teacher for thirty three years. She taught in many school systems across the country: Fargo, North Dakota; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Dallas, Texas; Cedar Hill, Texas; Elsmere, Kentucky and Lincolnton, Georgia.

Kay treasured time with visits from her family and friends and loved to entertain by playing cards, games and hosting her Bible study group. She loved playing golf with her friends and especially her ladies golf group, the Monday Mamas, and her couples group, The Wacky Hackers. Reading and sewing were also hobbies she enjoyed. Kay was very active in her church, often taking on leadership roles, and was especially fond of her role with organizing the very first Camp Grand - a vacation bible school for grandkids at Lutheran Church by The Lake in McCormick, SC. Kay was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage.

A celebration of life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00am. A light lunch reception will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Katherine Wold can be made to Mayo Clinic for lung cancer research or The Tribute of Life Foundation, the charitable partner of the Home Hospice Care organization in Little Rock, Arkansas.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Wold's passing. She was my 1st and 2nd grade teacher about 30 yrs ago, and she had such a huge impact on me as a child. She was a wonderful teacher and a stellar human being and the world is just a little less bright without her in it. I think of her often, especially at the holidays, because she always had the best holiday craft projects. She taught me cursive, long division, and how to braid. But most of all she taught me kindness. And that is a gift that far too many people do not receive these days. Blessings and peace to her family in her absence

Bill & all the Wold family. It is with great saddnexx that we send our condolness to you regarding Kay's passing. Bill, Mary & I will never forget all the Hooter's Tour parties you and Kay held in your back yard, watching the players pass the 15th hole at Monticello golf course at Savannah Lakes Village. We cherised your friendship. When I was a member of the Cancer Awareness Group at SlV you & Kay gave a very moving presentation about the battle Kay was enduring with her fight with lung cancer. She fought a valient battle. She now rests in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ,
