Biography: Virginia Claire Davidson Buck, age 92, died in Harrison, Arkansas on Tuesday, October 9, 2007. She was the widow of Arthur Bruce Buck, Jr. She was born in Little Rock on April 30, 1915, the daughter of Charles Brantly Davidson and Ruby Blackwood Davidson. Her father’s family were early residents of the city and were active in the formation of the First Baptist Church. Church services were held in the home of her great grandfather, Benjamin Brantly. Her grandmother, Marianna Brantly Davidson, was known as the Baptist Belle, for running door to door as a child calling people to church. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1932 and attended Arkansas State Teachers College and Draughon Business College. On January 18, 1943, she married the love of her life, A.B. Buck, Jr., who was serving in the Navy, and followed him from coast to coast and back, wherever his ship came in. They were married 60 years when he died in 2003. Following the war, they settled in Forrest City, where they reared their two sons, were active in the community and had a wide circle of friends. They were particularly active in the First United Methodist Church, where Virginia served as secretary for many years. In later years she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Two sisters, Mary Frances Steel and Dorothy Priddy, predeceased her. She is survived by two sons, Richard Bruce Buck and his wife, Fran, of Western Grove, and Charles Brantly Buck and his wife, Kate, of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Philip, David and James Buck and Jennifer Hendricks and her husband, Jeff; and a sister-in-law, Cordelia Buck Stumberg of St. Charles, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2007. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Bruce and Brant, I just learned of Virginia's passing and hold you and family in loving thought and prayer. I will never forget how sweet she was, her smile and joyful countenance. I can hear her laughter now, a quality that certainly came in handy when we were kids. May she rest in peace and know she will be forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched. Peace be with you,

To The Loved Ones Of Virginia Claire Buck;
I am so sorry for your loss, and I cannot possibly know how you are feeling.
My hope is that, this letter will offer you comfort and hope in the promise Jehovah God gave us in his Word the Bible, that death and sickness will be no more.
Revelation 21:4 states; “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Also Isaiah 25:8,9 “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken [it]. And in that day one will certainly say: “Look! This is our God. We have hoped in him, and he will save us. This is Jehovah. We have hoped in him. Let us be joyful and rejoice in the salvation by him.”
Those Scriptures assure us that if we have faith in Jehovah, and His Son, Christ Jesus, all will be resurrected from their graves, with the hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth. That gives us comfort in knowing that we will see our loved ones again.
Psalm 37:29, states “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”
If you have any questions please contact me at the above address.
With Sincere Sympathy, Doreen

Mrs. Buck was such a delightfully warm, friendly, and genuine person. She and Mr. Buck always made us feel welcome in their home and were truly interested in our lives. Whenever she asked what plans Brant and I had for the evening, she had a gleam in her eye, and I sensed that she always knew there were a couple of things we were conveniently omitting from our answer. Mrs. Buck was a gracious and loving lady to all, and I know she was a great mother to Brant and Bruce. May wonderful memories sustain you through this difficult time. Sincerely, Paul Gibson

It was such a pleasure to get to know Mrs. Buck while she was at Hope Haven. If ever anyone enjoyed being a part of the church and Primetimers, it was she. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless

I grew up in the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City and Mr. & Mrs. Buck were two of my favorite people. They were both always so kind and always had a smile for you. I am sad to hear of her passing as she was a truly great lady. May you be comforted in knowing what a positive influence she had on the many lives she touched. May God Bless your family during this difficult time.
