Biography: Gene Whitaker Wood was born January 22, 1928, in North Little Rock, Arkansas and passed away after a lengthy illness on November 13, 2005 in Houston, Texas. Gene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy T. Wood; her parents, Andrew and Cora Whitaker; and her brothers Edward Whitaker and Norman Whitaker. She is survived by her daughter, Roxann Wood Harris and her husband, Robert G. Harris, her granddaughter, Reagan M. Harris, all of Houston, Texas and her sister, Hazel Guenther of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Gene worked for the Master in Chancery, child support division for Pulaski County for many years. When she lived in Little Rock she was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She will be missed by family and friends.
