Biography: Dr. Milas Eldon Davis, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Little Rock, AR, at the age of 88. “Mike” was born in Little Rock on August 3, 1934, to Milas Eldon and Vonnie Jones Davis. He was raised in Brinkley, AR, and attended college at University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Upon graduating from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1959, he became a Radiologist. During his internship, he met the love of his life, Rosemary Wilson, who became his wife on September 3, 1960.

As a newlywed, Mike joined the Air Force.  He and Rosemary were stationed at Bitburg Airforce Base in Germany for three years. They treasured their time in Germany, meeting great friends and traveling extensively. Upon returning to the United States, Mike joined a radiology practice in Mobile, AL and resided in Montrose Village on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. They raised three children in this idyllic place, where they still have many life-long friends. Mike loved practicing medicine and continued his career after moving to Mount Pleasant, TX in 1989, where he eventually retired at age 78.

Mike was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.  He was a music enthusiast, with an extensive vinyl collection. He enjoyed all types of genres, particularly classic country. He was gregarious, upbeat and had an incredible sense of humor, keeping friends and family entertained throughout his life. He served as a role model to his children and grandchildren by demonstrating work ethic, gentleness, patience, integrity, humility, and kindness. In the face of struggles and hardships, he remained grounded in his spirituality and faith.

Mike is preceded in death by his sisters, Evon Davis Grizzle and Jacque Davis Walker, and his grandson, Wilson “Wil” Harrell Foltz. He is survived by Rosemary, his wife of 61 years, and his three children, Tiffani Davis Foltz, Milas Eldon “Trey” Davis, III, and Melanie Davis Cook and her husband, Cal, as well as his grandchildren, Davis Foltz, Emma Cook and Murphy Cook, who endearingly referred to him as PopPop -- and his precious dogs, Lilly, and Eli.

In lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider a memorial gift to UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, 4301 West Markham Street, Slot #716, Little Rock, AR 72205, giving.uams.edu
