Biography: Nina Milam Williams, 85, of Little Rock, AR, passed away on July 30, 2022. Nina was born on May 4, 1937, to Huey and Beulah Milam in Prescott, AR. After graduating salutatorian from Prescott High School in 1955, she went on to study Nursing  at the Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock, AR. After graduation, she landed her first job as a RN at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

In 1957, she met Fred Eugene Williams, and they wed on June 8, 1958. After Nina and Fred started their family, she stayed at home caring for their children. In 1970, she became the School Nurse at Little Rock Central High School. She loved working with the students at Central High and they loved her.  After retiring in 1994, Nina spent her time volunteering and enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nina was predeceased by her parents Huey and Beulah.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred Eugene Williams (the love of her life), her brother Charles Milam (Pat) of Shreveport, LA and her sister Betty Rodgers (Roy) of Texarkana, TX.

She is also survived by her 3 children, Steven Williams (Pam) of Graford, TX, Karen Winston (Marvin) of Greenbriar, AR, and Kyle Williams (Denise) of Conway, AR.

In addition, she will be missed by her 7 grandchildren, Sarah Morris (Bryan) of Seymour, TX, Rachel Williams of Stephenville, TX, Mitch Williams (Shana) of Kansas City, MO, Jacob Williams of Lenexa, KS, Zachary Winston (and fiancé K.C. Bryant) of Little Rock, AR, Matthew Winston (and girlfriend Hannah Davis) of Little Rock, AR, and Caleb Winston of Conway, AR.

Nina was a great-grandmother to 6 great grandchildren: Caroline, Emma and Tripp Morris of Seymour, TX and Joseph, Skyler and Aubrey Williams of Kansas City, MO.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who loved to travel, and was constantly on the go. She loved  going on cruises with special friends, and seeing many different parts of the world.  She enjoyed playing cards (especially bridge and spades), and in her later years, playing poker with her friends at Ridgemere. Nina did not know a stranger, as everyone was treated as family.  Everyone who met Nina remarked that she was one of the sweetest persons they had ever known.  She treated everyone with love, compassion and respect.  She was the embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman.  We take comfort in knowing that we will meet her again in heaven.

A memorial will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. There will be no grave-side service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her two favorite charities that were dear to her: Arkansas Alzheimer’s Association and the Arkansas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Our prayers are with y’all. She was a very sweet lady. I enjoyed many times riding with her to school since y’all lived across the street from us. She was a sweet nurse at Little Rock Central High School.

You have my deepest sympathy. Ms. Nina had become like a second mother to me over the past few years. I never thought i would meet a sweeter person when i met Karen, until I met her Mom. I know you will all miss her terribly, but I know she is walking the streets of gold without her oxygen and she will be there to greet us when it comes our time to go. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
