Biography: Ernestine Mathes Holt Erwin, age 87, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007. She was born in Zion, Arkansas to the late James Henry and Beatrice Lillian Hodge Mathes. After her graduation from Jonesboro High School she was married to Robert Holt raising two daughters Barbara Ann and Patty. Robert died in 1974. Ernestine later was married to Ralph T. Erwin who died in 1997. Ernestine was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock. She loved gardening and reading. She is survived by her two daughters; Barbara Ann Holt Bova and husband Steve of Little Rock, Patty Holt Boyd and husband Pat of Little Rock, grandchildren Ashley Boyd Henry, Patrick Boyd and wife Sharon, great-grandchildren Erin and Ashlyn Boyd and extended family Wren, Lori, Jacob and special friend Marcelette Nease. Ernestine is preceded in death by two brothers Lloyd Mathes and Vaughan Matthews and a daughter Sandra Lee Holt. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Baptist Hospice and the Parkway Health Center. There will be a private graveside service Saturday officiated by Reverend Phil Spigner.
